Capacitive sensors
Precimeter manufactures a wide variety of non-contact sensors. These sensors Respond quickly to changes in target distance without the errors associated with mechanical linkages, drift-prone electro-mechanical devices, or contact based float systems. In fact, these sensors have no moving parts.
These sensors convert the capacitance reading betweeen the sensor's sensing plate and the target into a frequency signal. That signal is then sent back to the Precimeter Support Electronics where it is converted to an analog current and output to customer equipment.
Note: Precimeter Support Electronics can also operate as stand alone equipment. In this configuration the sensor output is used directly by the support electronics to control a Precimeter Actuator.
The sensor itself operates with a simple two-point target distance calibration. There is also a 1/4inch NPT air fitting provided to allow for air/gas cooling when needed.
