Increase safety and automate your casting process with automatic dams
The use of dams in the casting process can be due to several reasons. One is to direct the metal flow to specific locations or to dam up alternatively drain a specific volume of metal at the start or end of cast (SDX).
Another purpose is to create a small level drop and fine adjust the level downstream from an adjustable dam (GXP “Gate Valve”). This will improve the level and flow control and stabilize the casting process for example in a billet caster.
